Shad Kidd

The reunion sounds like it will be cool, but I'm going to be hanging out in Iraq in August (but my wife and kids might show up to the park).

After high school, I went to BYU for a semester then to Thailand on my mission. I went back to the Y for a year then met and married the former Heather Noack in the summer of 2002. We went back to Provo where I graduated with BA in History. We moved up to Rexburg for the summer where we had our first (Justice, now almost 5). When he was two weeks old, we moved out to Ann Arbor, MI, where I began law school at the University of Michigan.

After that school year, we moved to ID for a month then to San Francisco for the rest of the summer to work for a firm there. The next school year, I decided that I might as well get a master's in Southeast Asian Studies while I was in law school and began taking classes for that. The summer of '05 found us working for a couple firms down in Dallas (where our second, Felicity - now 3, was born) and then back in San Francisco for a month with another firm.

I graduated with a JD and MA in the spring of 2006, and we moved to ID to take the bar. Working for law firms had convinced me that I did not want to go that route, so we decided to accept a commission into the United States Air Force. I studied for, took and passed the bar while we lived in ID, and we got orders to Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico (it is by Albuquerque). We moved down here after I went through some training, and we all moved to Alabama after a couple months while I had a couple more months of training. We moved back here in April of '06 and have been here since. I am a Judge Advocate, which means I advise commanders on the law and prosecute airmen who break it.

Our youngest, Christian, was born here in Albuquerque last June and will turn one in a couple of weeks. Heather stays home with the kids and is an amazing mother. She is also very supportive of me and will be taking the kids up to Idaho for about seven months while I am in Iraq working on prosecuting detainees (terrorists, insurgents and the like). It is awesome to see what people are doing now - we enjoy reading your postings.
